Boyz II Men Concert
Wednesday, January 31st, 2007I was Boyz II Men fans, I am still now. They bring me to music when I was 13 years-old. I love their voice and their songs, especially "End of the Road", "On Bended Knee", "Doing Just Fine"
I have seen their concert on TV in a college, where young couples standing & hugging each other listening to their music. I thought one day I would go for their concert if they perform at Malaysia. Now, they are here - Genting on 23 January 2007. Due to certain reasons, I couldn’t make it. At least, I have you tube to recall the MTV.
Some introduction of Boyz II Men, for those who don’t know them:
The group’s illustrious career began with the release of their debut album "CooleyHighHarmony". They have recorded five number one pop hits between 1992 to 1997 and topped sales of 60 million records worldwide and have earned a host of awards namely Grammys, American Music Awards, World Music Awards.
Three of their number one hits, “End of the Road”, “I’ll Make Love To You” and “One Sweet Day” (a duet with Mariah Carey) set and broke records for the longest period of time a single remained at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Their debut album (CooleyHighHarmony) won the 1992 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, and the single “End of the Road” broke Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel/ Hound Dog” record of 11 weeks for remaining at the number one spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks!
The Boyz broke their own 13-week record with “I’ll Make Love To You” with 14 weeks at the top of the charts. They later made history when the single “On Bended Knee” was released and took the number one spot from their own “I’ll Make Love To You”. In the Billboard history, only two other artistes had managed to attain such a feat – Elvis and The Beatles.
In 1997, the group released "Evolution" which went straight to number one and the first single from the album “Four Seasons of Loneliness” went to number one. The Top Ten hit “A Song For Mama” followed which gave Boyz II Men their record-setting seventh platinum single. When the album II came out, it sold in excess of twelve million copies in United States alone, becoming one of the best-selling albums ever released by an R&B group act.
Their latest venture, the album "The Remedy", marks the new beginning for the “Boyz” evolution to “Men”. Nathan, Shawn and Wanya now own the rights to all of their original music and have complete control on their choices from the songs, recording and promotions.
Furthermore, Boyz II Men has announced that they will be teaming up with billionaire tycoon Donald Trump, where they will be managing the entertainment side of Trump’s latest venture in Philadelphia.
